This is the home of the Edina Basketball Association
The '09 - '10 season marks our 38th year serving the basketball playing youth of Edina. Though much has changed over the years, our commitment to providing an opportunity for Edina youth to learn how to play the game in a competitive and fun environment remains constant. We'll once again have over 1,000 boys and girls from 1st grade through high school on the courts from November to March.
Once again, first and second graders will participate in the Pee Wee program. The Pee Wee program will include over 25 hours of activities from November through February. The Pee Wee program is focused on fun and learning basketball basics through weekend programs and scheduled games after the holiday break.
Similarly, the Development League program will run from November through February and provide third and fourth grade participants the opportunity to enhance their basketball skills with more advanced coaching and additional game playing opportunities after the holidays. Although very similar in structure and content, the Pee Wee and Developmental League programs will still maintain separate gender-specific events for the boys and girls who participate.
At 5th grade, both the boys and girls will have the option of competing for a position on one of Edina’s Travel program teams or participating in the EBA House League program. As in past years, the boy's House League will include weekly practices and intra-league play in Edina, with teams made up of boys from Edina in 5th through 12th grades. The EBA House League for girls, grades 5-8, will include weekly practices and participate in an inter-community league program with teams from Minnetonka, Wayzata and potentially other communities in the west metro area. This year, we are hoping to offer a program for high school aged girls to continue playing as well (stay tuned...).
The EBA's travel program is for both boys and girls in grades 5 through 8 with the interest and aptitude to play more often and at a higher level. Tryouts are held in September and practices/games being around the beginning of November.
All programs are described in detail elsewhere on this website, and while similar, will be designed separately for each age group of girls and boys, respectively, based upon participation levels. We encourage each and every one of you to go to the appropriate section of this website if you have specific questions regarding your child's particular program.
As with any successful association, we are only as good as our volunteers. We are lucky to begin this season with a great group of board members committed to providing a top notch experience to each and every kid playing in this year's EBA. We encourage you to get involved. Help out with your child's team... you'll be glad you did.
See you in a gym soon!!

Our Mission
The mission of the Edina Basketball Association is to provide basketball opportunities for boy's and girl's who live in, or attend school in, Edina. Our programs provide:
the opportunity to play basketball in an organized environment
opportunities for all skill levels
instruction and skill development
basketball facilities and equipment in our community
an environment which emphasizes sportsmanship and fun
These programs are supported by the City of Edina Park and Recreation Department, the Edina School District and our generous sponsors. We would like to take this opportunity to thank these organizations for their help and cooperation in supporting the EBA.
