Last Sunday we hosted Devonport, with a number of close games including an incredible victory by the Under 16 boys and 4 point loss by the Under 14 girls.

2010 State Team Trial Dates: Updated Information - U20, U18, U16

Please note the following updated schedule of tryouts for the 2010 state team program for U20 Men, U20 Women, U18 Women, U16 Men and U16 Women. U18 Men will follow as soon as possible. North-West Tasmania To Play For Ninth Place At Australian U14 Club Championships, best Tasmanian Result Since 1993

The North West Tasmania under 14 junior men’s basketball team will finish in the highest position of any Tasmanian team since 1993 when it plays off for ninth place tomorrow (Saturday) at the Australian Under 14 Junior Boys’ Club Championships being conducted in Dandenong, Victoria.

Myra Donkin Appointed Basketball Tasmania Community Basketball Development Officer

We are pleased to advise that Basketball Tasmania has appointed Myra Donkin to the position of Community Basketball Development Officer.

The previous agreement between Basketball Tasmania and the partnership of Basketball Solutions (Mark Nash and Anthony Stewart) has been concluded and Mark and Anthony will be pursuing other interests although neither will be lost to basketball and we sincerely thank both for their contribution over the past 18 months.

2010 NW Thunder Under 14 Boys Tryouts

The 2010 NW Thunder Under 14 Boys tryouts have been announced, so if you were born in 1997 or 1998 and would like to try out for the U14 Thunder team to travel to Canberra for the Australian Championship in September 2010 then print the attached PDF document and return it prior to the closing date of November 7th.

Penguin Represented @ Nationals Finals

Congratulations to Damon Kingshott who has been awarded the Men's grand final statistician position at the National Under 16 Championship tonight in Devonport. Looking forward to seeing Damon at a future Olympic Games representing Penguin and Australia.

Nationals Finals Schedule

With the pool matches out of the way, the finals schedule for the U16 Nationals are set and we have the times for you. The Tassie girls will play NT at 10:00am Friday in Ulverstone.

Day 6 @ The Nationals

Today there were no games in the U16 Nationals at Penguin, with Ulverstone being the focus for the last day of pool play. The Tassie girls took on WA Metro at 4pm in a crucial game for them to finish above last place in their pool. The Tassie boys then took on SA Metro who last night had won the game at Penguin on the buzzer.
