Knockout Cancer Tournaments
Small ideas can become big realities as was the case on Saturday, June 2, 2007. AYB's own, Alexander Grano's idea to have a small basketball event on his backyard court to help raise money to fight Cancer turned into a large tournament with many sponsors, almost 100 participants, huge prizes and an awesome showing of support from the community and our local area College Basketball Teams. The success of this maiden event led to 2 additional tournaments in 2008. Over 300 boys, girls and even coaches played the basketball shooting game "Knockout" and $10,000 was raised from these 3 events all which was donated directly to the Ride for Roswell and Roswell Park Cancer Institute. This year's event took place on Saturday, June 6th, 2009. An additional $3,200 was raised. Stay tuned for next summer's event on Saturday, June 5th, 2010.
